Recipe of the Week- 1/31/10

Hello everyone,

I hope you all are ready for some Recipe of the Week awesomeness. Originally a cake was in order, but when it came down to decision time I made a last minute change and decided to go for something more along the lines of a bar cookie. So we searched and searched for one that struck our fancy, and believe me, did we find it. Ladies and gentleman, I would like to introduce to you, the brand new addition to ROTW…

chocolate-chip-pretzel-bars

Chocolate Chip Pretzel Bars

While Holly and I discussed in great detail different textural aspects and taste changes in the cookie we enjoyed, our good friend Mike only had one thing to say, “Mmm!” We made half of the bars with peanut butter drizzle and half without, since Mike isn’t a huge fan of PB. Mike went in for a bar sans PB. After the first mini taste test we decided we needed ice cream, so Mike, being the ice cream connoisseur that he is brought some vanilla ice cream so we could enjoy these bars a la mode. The second taste test Mike west for the PB drizzle, with a big heap of ice cream. Again, he said no words… But after much deliberation on his part he gave this recipe…

4.5 Mike

4.5 Mikes

He told us he didn’t want to give us a five in the off chance that something even better would come along and he wouldn’t have a higher number to rate it. So 4.5 Mikes it is, I can deal with that.

Break an egg,

Colleen

Groundhog Day on Two Things At Once

by Michelle Cornelison, DJ

Be sure to tune in on Monday, February 1st (yes, I know, it’s early…) at 6pm sharp for an entire two hours of groundhog goodness. A slight detour from the normal folk and punk combo, Monday’s show will feature animal and winter themed songs, groundhog facts, and a possible word from your friend, Bill Murray. Get ready.
