Yeah. Last week we traveled to a very dangerous place, the highly flammable 80’s.
It’s the first ever Totally 80’s Fuzz Factory. Dangerous because there were a lot of experiments gone wrong in the 80’s There also were plenty of great bands from the 70’s that lost it all in the 80’s. Let’s just say, not everything has aged well. So yeah, time has not been as kind to the 80’s as it has with other decades. At least from my point of view. In spite of this, the diversity of sound in rock & roll was evolving with greater velocity. Listen to songs from the decade and you’ll hear that one end is almost completely different from the other. A lot happened in that decade. Here’s a few memories from the 80’s. Songs you know and songs you may have forgotten.
There is no show this week. I’ll be at an artist residency making art. Lucky me. The Fuzz Factory on SCAD-Atlanta Radio will return next Thursday 8/7/14. Listen from 8-11 PM (EST) on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (www.scadatlantaradio.org).
