Tonight’s show was about body parts, which when I was making the playlist, I didn’t realize how stating the show with words would seem a little weird, but the music is good. I tried to limit the number of heartbreak songs, which only one of the many reasons “Achy Breaky Heart” didn’t make the cut. Other reasons include: Billy Ray Cyrus is stretched too thin and I don’t want to push him too far, I don’t want to make anybody sad, it would be taking away attention from Miley Cyrus, it features what I consider to be questionable grammar, too many adverbs with too few adjectives or verbs to justify them… I don’t have enough time to divulge all my reasons, so I’ll just get to the playlist. Here’s what played:
Body Movin’ – Beastie Boys
Eyes Of The Night – Starlight Mints
Get On The Good Foot – James Brown
Honey In Your Hips – The Yardbirds
Brown-Eyed Handsome Man – Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Hand in Hand – Elvis Costello

Next week’s show is the last one of my freshman year here at SCAD and I’m not having a theme, but instead opting for just a radio show because I feel like it should be a theme that’s fitting for being the last show and I felt that just a good show was the best way to go.
Thanks for listening,
DJ Matthias
